Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel

The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel oversees campus personnel processes, policies, and procedures related to academic personnel and reports to the Provost.

Our Mission

The Academic Personnel (AP) Office works with deans, associate deans, department chairs and faculty on matters related to faculty recruitment, retention, tenure, promotion, and the CSU-CFA (California Faculty Association) collective bargaining agreement. The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel provides contract interpretation and campus policy oversight. Academic Personnel manages faculty personnel processes such as compensation programs, grievance/arbitration, promotion, recruitment, retention, sabbatical/difference-in-pay leaves, tenure, as well as the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) and Pre-Retirement Reduction in Time Base Program.
